The most recent offer of CRC received from China by Brazilian importers was priced at $565/mt against $562/mt four weeks ago, both CFR conditions for shipment to a port in the South or Southeastern coast of Brazil, with the SAE 1008/SPCC grade as reference.

Brazil imported 15,600 mt of CRC in February, against 4,630 mt in January, according to the ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC. The main origins were Ukraine (7,900 mt at $559/mt) and Asia (4,800 mt at $699/mt), while smaller volumes were imported from Sweden and Germany.

Meanwhile, Brazil exported in February 25,500 mt of CRC, of which 23,500 mt at $631/mt to the EU and 2,000 mt at $837/mt to South American countries, both FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in December 2018.

The difference in prices for both import and export CRC is ascribed to varying grades and tonnage volume.
