Brazilian HRC exports increase in August at higher prices

Brazil exported 153,700 mt of HRC in August, 30 percent more than in July, at an average FOB price increased by $5/mt to $475/mt, said the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

ArcelorMittal exported 108,800 mt at $422/mt, CSN 32,200 mt at $526/mt and Usiminas 12,700 mt at $798/mt, all FOB conditions for price deals probably closed in June. The main destinations of August were Latin America (57,800 mt at $520/mt), Asia (34,000 mt at $394/mt), the EU (32,200 mt at $526/mt) and Turkey (29,600 mt at $423/mt), all FOB conditions.

The most recent export deals were reportedly closed at $610/mt, FOB conditions, with the basic commercial grades as reference, according to a local exporter.
