Brazilian producers remain negotiating HRC for export to South American countries in a price range of $590/mt to $600/mt, the same range over the last three weeks, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

A second local market source mentioned that the reference price for destinations other than South America is $560/mt, also FOB conditions, while last week the reference, for CFR conditions, was $565/mt to $570/mt for sales to Asian countries.

Preliminary indications from the country’s customs authorities point to a sharp increase in October from the 37,400 mt of HRC exported from Brazil in September.
