The reference price for Brazilian export hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) to South American countries is now being heard at approximately $1,350/mt, against $1,300/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference.
In February, Brazil exported 19,900 mt of HDG, in average at $1,090/mt, while importing 62,300 mt at $1,133/mt, both FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently being sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 7,500/mt ($1,586/mt), ex-works, no taxes included. Prices have remained stable for the past two weeks.
However, a source from a consumer of smaller volumes mentioned that he is receiving offers with prices of up to BRL11,000/mt ($2,326/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
