The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $960/mt today, stable from four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In June, Brazil exported 115,600 mt and imported 61,500 mt of HDG, against respectively 28,400 mt and 57,100 mt in April.
The destinations of the exports in June were South American countries (101,700 mt at $673/mt), the US (12,100 mt at $1,045/mt) and Egypt (1,700 mt at $405/mt), FOB conditions.
The exporters were Usiminas (97,500 mt at $594/mt), CSN (12,200 mt at $1,049/mt), ArcelorMittal (5,800 mt at $1,204/mt), while a small volume was exported by traders.
According to sources, exports from Usiminas in a large extent consist of downgraded material, at lower prices when compared to quality material.
The imports were from Asia (59,600 mt, of which 52,600 mt at $682/mt from China), and Europe (1,900 mt at $1,236/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,300/mt ($1,175/mt), stable in BRL from four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
