Steel distributors in Sao Paulo are negotiating HRC for the domestic market in small volumes at BRL 4,320/mt ($1125/mt), against BRL 4,274/mt two weeks ago, both delivered to customer, full taxes except IPI conditions for the 1008/1012 grades, 3.00mm thickness product. It is usually entitled to significant discounts in case of large volumes or direct acquisition from the producers.
In May, Brazil imported 14,900 mt of HRC, of which 6,600 mt from Ukraine at $517/mt, 5,300 mt from Russia at $444/mt, 2,400 mt from China at $651/mt, 500 mt from South Korea at $659/mt, and 100 mt from Australia at $464/mt, all FOB conditions and different quality grades.
The last offer of HRC received by Brazilian importers from China was priced at $588/mt, same over the last four weeks. Such price refers to CFR conditions to ports in the Brazilian south or southeastern coast, having the A36/Q235 grade product as reference.
