Baosteel hikes local HRC price by $61/mt for May, CRC price up $23/mt

Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in May this year.

The producer has decided to raise its local base prices for hot rolled coil (HRC) by RMB 400/mt ($61.2/mt). Also, the company has hiked prices for steel plate and hot rolled pickled products by RMB 500/mt ($76/mt) and RMB 300/mt ($46/mt) respectively. Its section steel prices have risen by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt). A somewhat smaller increase has been witnessed for cold rolled coil (CRC), pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) and galvalume, with prices of these products up RMB 150/mt ($23/mt).

Meanwhile, Baosteel has decided to hold its local prices for hot dip galvanized (HDG) and electro-galvanized products stable for May.
