The Turkish flat steel market has made a quiet start to the current month. Flat steel domestic prices in Turkey have softened ahead of the announcement of Russian and Ukrainian steel producers' offers to Turkey for July. Ukrainian steel producers are due to announce their new offer prices this weekend or next week, with their new prices expected to indicate decreases in line with the price softening tendency seen in global steel markets and the price cuts in the Turkish domestic markets. The Turkish market is looking forward to see the new price offers, even though the softened price levels will unlikely be sufficient to revive demand, which has remained quiet.

Import offers to Turkey for June production hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Ukrainian steel producers were standing at $590-610/mt CFR, while Russian HRC offers to Turkey were at $630/mt CFR, Romanian offers were at $650/mt CFR and Brazilian offers were at $650/mt CFR.
