AK Steel announces $25/nt price increase

Early Thursday, West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel announced that it has increased current spot market base prices for all carbon flat-rolled steel products by a minimum of $1.25 cwt. ($28/mt or $25/nt). Effective immediately, AK said that the company will now be quoting the following minimum base prices for new orders:

Hot rolled coil: $33.75 cwt. ($744/mt or $675/nt)

Cold rolled coil: $38.75 cwt. ($854/mt or $775/nt)

Hot dipped galvanized coil: $39.75 cwt. ($876/mt or $795/nt)
