Yieh United restarts construction of CR

Taiwan's integrated stainless steel mill Yieh United Steel announced that the company has carried on construction of cold rolling mill at Guangzhou. The mill is expected to complete by 2005 and will have an annual capacity of 300'000 tons. The construction of milll has been delayed temporarily due to Sars disease. The cold rolling mill is part of Yieh United's $790 million cost of investment in Guangzhou. The investment also contains hot rolling mills to produce sheets for upstream stainless steel products. The company is anticipated to increase the mill's annual capacity to 800'000 tons after 2005.
