Xuan Steel steps up focus on SAE grades of wire rod

Hebei-based Chinese steelmaker Xuan Steel, a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel, has stated that it is focusing increasingly on production of SAE grades of wire rod as it seeks to face the current challenging steel market conditions.

Xuan Steel's output of SAE grades of wire rod in the January-May period this year totaled 140,800 mt, accounting for 19.23 percent of the company's total wire rod production for the period. In May alone, Xuan Steel achieved a record monthly output of 36,800 mt of SAE grades of wire rod.

In the current year, Xuan Steel has developed production of SAE1008B-L, SAE1008B-KI, SAE10B17-L, SAE1022B, SAE1015B-L and SAE10B22A grades of wire rod. It has in recent times exported SAE grades of wire rod to destinations such as Japan, South Korea, India, Southeast Asia, Peru and Ghana
