Heilongjiang Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xilin Iron and Steel Group (Xilin Steel) successfully commenced operations at its steel round bar production line on October 25, as reported by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Corporation (MCC) on October 29. Construction work on the production line was carried out by MCC subsidiary China First Metallurgical Group Co.
Construction work had started on the facilities in question, located in the city of Xiniang in Qinghai Province, on Feburary 20 this year. The new production line has a designed annual capacity of 450,000 mt of round bar with a diameter range of 16-100 mm.
