Chinese company Harbin Xingping Industrial and Trade Co. plans with the assistance of China Iron and Steel Research Institute Group to build a facility for the production of high-strength earthquake-resistant rebar in the county of Bayan, Heilongjiang Province, as reported by local newspaper Heilongjiang Daily.
The project, valued at RMB 1 billion ($174 million), is expected to have an annual output of 300,000 mt, and to fill a gap in the market for the rebar products in question in the three northeastern provinces of China.
