Xichang Steel and Vanadium achieves Q1 pig iron output target

Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Pangang Group has announced that in the current year up to March 27 its subsidiary Xichang Steel and Vanadium Co. produced 1.49 million mt of pig iron, thereby achieving its output target for the first quarter ahead of schedule. Xichang Steel and Vanadium Co.'s pig iron output target for the full year is 6 million mt.
 
In the first month of the current year, Xichang Steel and Vanadium Co. produced 537,000 mt of pig iron, constituting an all-time record monthly output. Meanwhile, the company's iron ore sinter output in January this year reached 1.06 million mt.
