Zhou Haibin, chairman of Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xiangtan Iron and Steel Group (Xiangtan Steel), has announced that the company's new wide and heavy steel plate production line, which will production plates of up to five meters in width, will come on stream in October.
Xiangtan Steel currently runs two other wide and heavy plate production lines. The new line is an advanced, high-tech wide and heavy plate production line, designed by leading engineering company Siemens VAI.
