Vyksa Steel Works, a part of Russia-based OMK Group, has started to reconstruct pipe electric welding mill no. 2 of the small and medium diameter pipes complex. Modernization works will be lasted till the middle of 2013 and will allow to increase output to 300,000 mt per year.
The company will install three new high-technology and automated mills instead of the first and second currently operated mills, which will produce water and gas pipes and hollow sections with small diameters with improved consumer properties.
The supplier of the equipment will be Italian company Olimpia 80. Gimeco and GTC companies will supply finishing and automatic packing lines. New lines are designed for the production of pipes with diameters of 12,7-60 mm, 21-89 mm and 40-133 mm and with wall thickness of 0.8-6.0 mm.
