Vitkovice Steel modernizes rolling mill to expand sheet piles output capacity

Czech steelmaker Vitkovice Steel A.S. has announced that, in order to strengthen its market position, it has modernized its heavy-section rolling mill with an investment of about CZK 315 million ($14.3 million). With the modernization of the rolling mill, the company aims to increase the production capacity of sheet piles, to expand its product portfolio, to reduce natural gas consumption and to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

The company stated that the rolling mill modernization includes the installation of a new section straightener and modernization of the furnace heating system, and the modernization of the heavy-section mill also has the impact of reducing the consumption of natural gas and NOx emissions, thereby having a positive impact on the environment.
