Vietnam’s steel imports up 14.8 percent in April 2026 from March

In April this year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1.43 million mt, up 14.8 percent compared to March, while its scrap imports were recorded at 641,118 mt, increasing by 15.3 percent compared to the same month, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

In the first four months of the year, Vietnam’s steel imports decreased by 1.2 percent year on year to 5.04 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 2.13 million mt in the given period, up by 4.6 percent year on year.
