In July, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1,089,429 mt, up 13.7 percent compared to June, while its scrap imports increased by 4.6 percent month on month to 216,867 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
In the first seven months of the year, Vietnam’s steel imports decreased by 10.3 percent year on year to 6,64 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 2.56 million mt in the given period, decreasing by 7.0 percent year on year.
