Vietnam’s construction steel consumption rises by 10.5 percent in Q1

The Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) has announced that in the first quarter of the current year consumption of construction steel in the country amounted to 1.29 million mt, rising 10.5 percent, while domestic production of construction steel increased by 17.7 percent to 1.27 million mt, both year on year.
 
In March, construction steel consumption amounted to 651,633 mt, marking the highest-ever monthly consumption volume.
 
According to the VSA, Vietnam's construction steel exports stood at 92,000 mt in the first quarter, up 11 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
