Vale’s CSP exports 300,000 mt of slab in January

Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP) exported over 300,000 mt of slab in January. CSP is jointly owned by Vale, Dongkuk and Posco.
 
CSP’s export volume in January is double the total from December; the steelmaker exported a total of 5.6 million mt in 2016.
 
The company also hit another milestone since its launch: in January it received 500 million mt in feedstock. CSP expects to reach 1 million mt of exported slab in February.
 
CSP-produced slab was exported to a number of countries, including Germany, South Korea, the US, Indonesia, Italy, Morocco, Mexico, the UK, Czech Republic, Thailand, Taiwan and Turkey.
