Maxion Wheels, which produces steel light vehicle wheels, has certified the slab produced at Vale’s steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP) in Ceara state, according to a media report by Diario do Nordeste.

CSP is a joint venture between Vale, Posco and Dongkuk, and sells slab to domestic flats steelmaker Usiminas to produce HRC. Maxion Wheels, which has a plant in Limeira, Brazil, buys the HRC from Usiminas to make wheels for autos and trucks.

Maxion Wheels certified CSP’s quality and slab production systems. As a result, CSP became a certified slab supplier.

CSP has several certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, as well as client certifications from Siemens Gamesa, Caterpillar and Scania.
