Vale to continue operations at its maritime terminal in Malaysia

Brazilian iron ore producer Vale announced that it will not suspend activities at its Teluk Rubiah maritime terminal (TRMT) located in Malaysia.

Vale has decided to continue operations at its Malaysian iron ore distribution center TRMT for the moment following discussions held with the national and local agencies and authorities to assess the current situation.

The company said it is working on a contingency plan to continue to operate TRMT and has taken safeguard measures in compliance with all requirements in order to protect the health of its employees and contractors against the backdrop of the spread of the coronavirus.

Vale said that it will inform the market based on the latest developments.
