Uzbekistan’s government has decided to introduce duty on the exports of 86 goods including scrap, according to the official statement of the Uzbek government. With this decision, the country aims to increase the availability of local raw materials to be used in local companies’ production of finished products and to attract investment.
Scrap exports will be subject to a maximum rate of 100 percent duty as of July 1 this year.
