USTR announces an additional batch of product exclusions

The U.S. Trade Representative Office published today the exclusion of a further 178 products steel import tariffs imposed in March 2002. This latest list covers products of carbon flanges/fittings; cold finished bars; cold rolled flat steel; corrosion resistants; hot rolled flats; plates; wires, bars, wire rods of stainless steel; tin mill flats rolled; welded pipes&tubes. It is believed that this extensive list is aiming to persuade the EU to give up implementing the planned retaliatory tariffs consisting some crucial U.S. export products.
