US structural pipe and tube exports up 26.5 percent in May

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of structural pipe and tube totaled 10,913 mt in May 2019, up 26.5 percent from April but down 39.3 percent from May 2018 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube exports totaled $19.2 million in May, compared to $14.3 million in the previous month and $26.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most structural pipe and tube to Mexico in May with 5,535 mt, compared to 4,640 mt in April and 3,972 mt in May 2018. Other destinations include Canada, with 4,391 mt. There were no other major destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export structural pipe and tube in May.
