US Steel Granite City plant will likely not idle until the end of December

Union steelworkers at the US Steel Granite City plant said they recently learned that the local steel plant will likely not be idled until the end of December.  Union leaders have asked workers to maintain their focus and to keep safety a high priority.  It is currently unclear how long the idling of the mill will last, and whether the pending layoffs will be temporary or permanent.
