The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced that it has postponed the preliminary determination day in the countervailing duty investigation against heavy-walled rectangular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes imports from Turkey. The preliminary decision was due on October 14, while the new deadline is now December 18, 2015.
The US DOC concluded that the parties concerned are cooperating and that the case is extraordinarily complicated, so that it requires more time to make the preliminary determination.
The countervailing duty investigation was initiated on August 10 this year. The products subject to these investigations are certain heavy-walled rectangular welded steel pipes and tubes of rectangular (including square) cross section, having a nominal wall thickness of not less than 4 mm.
The product subject to duty investigation currently falls under 7306.61.1000 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
