US plates in coil exports up 4.2 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 35,806 mt in October 2019, up 4.2 percent from September and up 54.5 percent from October 2018 levels. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $29.5 million in October, compared to $29.8 million in the previous month and $20.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in October with 26,506 mt, compared to 26,315 mt in September and 17,557 mt in October 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 8,807 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US plates in coil exports in October.
