According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 27,314 mt in February 2019, up 3.8 percent from January but down 22.4 percent from February 2018 levels. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $22.3 million in February, compared to $23.3 million in the previous month and $28.4 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in February with 22,914 mt, compared to 22,052 mt in January and 21,758 mt in February 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 3,021 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export plates in coil in February.
