The US International Trade Commission (USITC) today determined that there is a reasonable indication that a US industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from Belarus, Italy, Korea, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom that are allegedly sold in the United States at less than fair value and subsidized by the governments of Italy and Turkey.
Chairman Rhonda K. Schmidtlein, Vice Chairman David S. Johanson, and Commissioners Irving A. Williamson, and Meredith M. Broadbent voted in the affirmative. Commissioner F. Scott Kieff did not participate in these investigations.
As a result of the ITC’s affirmative determinations, the US Department of Commerce will continue to conduct its antidumping and countervailing duty investigations. Preliminary countervailing duty determinations are due on or about June 21, 2017, and preliminary antidumping duty determinations are due on or about September 5, 2017.
