On October 2, 2006, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) instituted a five-year review (“sunset”) concerning the antidumping duty order on clad steel plate imported from Japan. The US ITC used the sunset review to determine whether the revocation of the order would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. As a result of the review, the ITC has determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty order on clad steel plate from Japan would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. As a result of the ITC's affirmative determination and the US Department of Commerce's (DOC) recent affirmative finding, the existing order on imports of clad steel plate from Japan will remain in place.
