US iron ore output decline in Q2

US iron ore production in the second quarter of this year amounted to 11.7 million mt, decreasing by 900,000 mt as compared to the same period last year and down 800,000 mt from the first quarter of this year, according to figures from the Mineral Industry Survey released by the US Geological Survey (USGS).

In the first haf of the current year, US iron ore production totaled 24.2 million mt, compared to 25.3 million mt in H1 2012.
