Cleveland, Ohio-based Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. announced Tuesday that it has restarted its Wabush Scully mine that was temporarily idled due to the forest fires in the region since June 28.

The town of Wabush rescinded their emergency evacuation order and reduced the threat level back to an evacuation alert. Cliffs called back workers on Monday, July 1, and the Scully mine is now fully operational.

Cliffs employs nearly 500 people at its Wabush Scully mine. The mine and plant are located in the town of Wabush in Labrador.
