The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced that it has initiated a circumvention inquiry on the antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) orders on certain corrosion-resistant steel products (CORE) completed in Indonesia using cold rolled steel manufactured in Vietnam.

The investigation was launched upon the request of domestic producers Steel Dynamics Inc. and Nucor Corporation. The DOC will determine whether the products in question are circumventing AD and CVD orders on CORE from Vietnam.

The current dumping rates are at 87.07-162.96 percent, while subsidy rates on imports of the given products from Vietnam are in the range of 0.30-257.83 percent.
