US cut-length plate imports up 62.1 percent in November

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cut-length plate totaled 32,999 mt in November 2019, up 62.1 percent from October and down 39.3 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, cut-length plate imports totaled $24.2 million in November 2019, compared to $17.3 million in the previous month and $45.7 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most cut-length plate from Korea in November, with 18,912 mt, compared to 1,414 mt in October and 27,899 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported cut-length plate in November include Canada, with 10,069 mt; and Mexico, with 1,280 mt.
