US cut-length plate exports up 9.7 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 75,551 mt in June 2019, up 9.7 percent from May but down 9.1 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $85.2 million in June, compared to $77.6 million in the previous month and $90.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in June with 38,988 mt, compared to 39,948 mt in May and 33,460 mt in June 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 28,770 mt; Sweden, with 3,000 mt; Chile, with 1,725 mt; and China, with 1,284 mt.
