US cut-length plate exports up 2.7 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 67,268 mt in September 2019, up 2.7 percent from August and up 9.9 percent from September 2018 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $70.1 million in September, compared to $69.8 million in the previous month and $69.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in September with 37,953 mt, compared to 39,273 mt in August and 35,232 mt in September 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 24,313 mt; and China, with 2,589 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in September.
