US cut-length plate exports rise 7.8 percent in June

US exports of cut-length plate totaled 98,504 mt in June, up 7.8 percent from May but down 2.9 percent from June 2016 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $94.2 million in June, compared to $88.7 million in the previous month and $87.8 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Canada in June with 50,264 mt, compared to 52,742 mt in May and 54,474 mt in June 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 38,624 mt; Belgium, with 4,117 mt; Brazil, with 2,048 mt; and Sweden, with 1,400 mt.
