US cut-length plate exports down 24.5 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 67,786 mt in April 2020, down 24.5 percent from March but up 15.1 percent from April 2019 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $63.4 million in April, compared to $82.4 million in the previous month and $69.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in April with 34,930 mt, compared to 46,736 mt in March and 34,337 mt in April 2019. Other top destinations included Canada, with 29,179 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in April.
