According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 68,639 mt in July 2018, down 17.4 percent from June and down 11.8 percent from July 2017 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $75.9 million in July, compared to $90.3 million in the previous month and $78.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in July with 37,417 mt, compared to 33,460 mt in June and 30,304 mt in July 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 27,328 mt; and China, with 1,003 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in July.
