According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled coil totaled 67,531 mt in January this year, up 60.6 percent month on month and down 53.0 percent year on year. By value, CRC imports totaled $59.27 million in January this year, compared to $40.38 million in December and $139.9 million in January 2025.
The US imported the most CRC from Canada in January with 16,413 mt, compared to 18,099 mt in December and 47,417 mt in January 2025. Other top sources of imported CRC in January include South Korea with 16,354 mt, Australia with 9,204 mt, the Netherlands with 4,772 mt, and Belgium with 4,365 mt.
