US cold finished bar exports up 1.3 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold finished bar totaled 7,502 mt in March 2019, up 1.3 percent from February but down 24.5 percent from March 2018 levels. By value, cold finished bar exports totaled $19.5 million in March, compared to $18.1 million in the previous month and $20.8 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cold finished bar to Canada in March with 3,348 mt, compared to 3,258 mt in February and 5,869 mt in March 2018. Other destinations included Mexico, with 3,149 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export cold finished bar in March.
