Ukraine’s iron ore exports down in September

Ukrainian companies exported 3.2 million mt of iron ore in September this year, down 1.8 percent year on year and indicating a sharp fall of 18 percent month on month. The reduction was connected with the sharp price drop seen in August, hurting sales for September shipments.

Ukraine’s iron ore exports totaled 30.4 million mt in the January-September period, up about 10 percent compared to the same period last year.

The country’s exports of iron ore in the given period were mainly to China, which accounted for 32.44 percent of the total sales value, while Poland accounted for 12.22 percent and the Czech Republic for 9.81 percent.
