Ukraine’s ferrous metal imports and exports rise in value in 2010

According to the data issued by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, in 2010 Ukraine's exports of ferrous metals increased in value by 42.7 percent year on year to $14.627 billion, while its exports of ferrous metal products went up by 2.4 percent year on year to $1.994 billion. The share of exports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in the country's overall export structure amounted to 28.4 percent and 3.9 percent respectively.
 
Meanwhile, in 2010, Ukraine's imports of ferrous metals increased in value by 71.9 percent to $1.921 billion, and its imports of ferrous metal products went up by 42.7 percent to $884.5 million mt, both compared to 2009. The share of imports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in the country's overall import structure amounted to 3.2 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.
