Ukraine’s coal output increases by 3.6 percent in January-October

According to the data issued by Ukraine's Ministry of Coal Industry, in the first ten months of this year the country's coal mining companies increased their aggregate coal output by 3.6 percent year on year to 61.925 million mt.

Specifically, Ukraine's production of coking coal in January-October amounted to 19.892 million mt - down 7.8 percent, while its output of power-generating coal totaled 42.033 million mt - up 10 percent, both compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the state-owned mines controlled by the Ministry of Coal Industry saw their coal production fall by 1.2 percent in January-October this year to about 31.495 million mt, including 6.233 million mt of coking coal - down 18 percent year on year, and 25.262 million mt of power-generating coal - up 4.1 percent year on year.
