According to the preliminary data issued by Ukraine's Ministry of Coal Industry, in the first seven months of this year the country's coal mining companies increased their coal output by 3.2 percent year on year to 43.267 million mt.
Specifically, Ukraine's production of coking coal in January-July amounted to 14.855 million mt - down 0.2 percent, while output of power-generating coal totaled 28.412 million mt - up five percent, both compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the state-owned mines controlled by the Ministry of Coal Industry reduced their coal production by three percent in January-July this year to 21.844 million mt, including 4.923 million mt of coking coal - down 9.4 percent year on year, and about 16.921 million mt of power-generating coal - down one percent year on year.
