Ukraine pig iron exports down 2.3 percent in 2014

According to the data released by Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in 2014 Ukraine exported 2.2 million mt of pig iron, down 2.3 percent compared to 2013, worth a total of $802.3 million, down 2.5 percent year on year.

The exports mostly went to Italy (with a share of 34.39 percent), the US (32.54 percent) and Turkey (22 percent).

In 2014, Ukraine imported 7,400 mt of pig iron, down 44.53 percent year on year, worth a total of $2.98 million mt, down 50.6 percent year on year. The main suppliers of pig iron in 2014 were Russia (supplying 96.85 percent), Italy (2.08 percent) and Germany (1.07 percent).
