In the first seven months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 2.9 percent decrease in its finished steel product output to 16.210 million mt, a 3.2 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 19.484 million mt and a 1.3 percent rise in its pig iron production to 16.791 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.
The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went up by 0.17 percent year on year to 11.388 million mt.
In the January-July period this year, Ukraine produced 38.730 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 13.386 million mt of iron ore pellets - up 2.1 percent and 4.6 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.
In July alone, Ukraine produced 2.053 million mt of finished steel products - down 6.6 percent, 2.552 million mt of crude steel - down 8.6 percent, 2.281 million mt of pig iron - down 6.1 percent, and 1.585 million mt of metallurgical coke - down 2.4 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
