According to the data for the ten months of 2009, Ukrainian exports of steel pipes decreased by 27.5 percent to 1.16 million mt, its semi-finished steel product exports dropped by 10.5 percent to 9.8 million mt, its exports of flat rolled steel decreased by 32.2 percent to 4.95 million mt, and its exports of long steel dropped by 19.8 percent to 4 million mt, all compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
On the other hand, in January-October this year Ukraine registered a 38.2 percent decrease year on year in its ferroalloy exports to 595,230 mt, a 3.2 percent decline in its pig iron exports to 1.184 million mt, and a 21.9 percent decrease in its coke exports to 728,810 mt, all compared to January-October 2008.
Meanwhile, during the first ten months of this year, Ukraine increased its iron ore exports by 9.8 percent year on year to 21.88 million mt and its scrap exports by 25.1 percent year on year to 726,800 mt.
